There is absolutely nothing wrong with the format on this website and the countdown to Charlie banner should be kept for the following reasons.
A) This is a website dedicated to Charlie Wolf and should be left in tribute to him (yeah I know He is not dead but you get my point)
B) Charlie has not be fired by Talk, He may no longer have a regular slot but will be doing holiday cover, and with Christmas only four months away I am positive that Charlie will be sitting in his old chair doing the over night slots so the Banner will be needed.
C ) If it isnt broken don't try mending it

I agree with your general sentiment - but the countdown is meaningless! Nobody knows when Charlie will be back on TS (if ever), so a mythical countdown clock is just a joke.
