I'm torn. Whilst I really miss his show on talkSPORT, listening to him doing the music on Big L reminds me just how bloody good he was on Laser 558 all those years ago.

Really I'll just be happy to listen to whatever gig he gets whether it be talk or music based radio.

I think music radio is dead, the so called radio presenters who sit in their chairs randomly selecting songs can be easily replaced by someting as simple as an ipod which is far more convienent that a radio and it plays all the songs you like. Talk radio is definatly coming to life, espitally in ireland with the nationalisation of newstalk which originally was a dublin only station if im correct. I think now we are also seeing the bridge between talk radio and mp3 players with the introduction of pod casts.

Some have already gone beyond the need for actual presenters! If I recall rightly 'Core' recently axed ALL of its presenters in favour of a completely automated playout computer. They still play a pretty good selection of unsigned music on their station, which I applaud, but it totally lacks any soul Sad

I think in the future we'll start to see a blurring in the distinctions between talk and music radio, in favour of a more ILR style programming on nationwide radio.

Yeah thats kind of the way in the states, the land is far too vast to cover it with radio signals so they are now using satellite radios which offer hundreds of stations (without presenters) that provide any type of music you want for a monthly charge, mabie we will be seeing the same thing here. Hey hers a question! Why the hell is there now DAB in ireland? I know ireland is a bit behind but at least dublin could have DAB!
