On Friday the disappearance of Madeleine McCann once again dominated the news. It was also one of Mike Mendoza's subjects on talkSport on Friday/Saturday morning.

Mike's opinion is, that he doesn't think there is anything wrong with leaving children alone in hotel rooms. Listening to Mike i get the impression that he is a sensible individual and it amazes me how he can hold this view.

Maybe years ago you could have left children alone in hotel rooms. With the way times have changed it is not a good idea to do that nowadays.

i dont for one minute think mike really belives that. if he does then he is an idiot, a big big idiot. being honest now, since charlie wolf's departure im finding im listening to talksport less and less. so called next week on talksport steve berry is going to be covering the overnight show for part of the week. ive nothing against steve, but as ive posted on other forums steve knows sweet fa about anything except motoring. since utv took over talksport i dont think ive ever seen as much criticism about the station as there is now on various radio forums. talksport's non sport talk shows continue to hit new lows, and im finding myself continuely hoping that talksport loses advertising revenue, then maybe utv might sell up, then hopefully any new owners will return talksport to the powerhouse radio station it used to be. and most definately galloway free.

Mike is trying really hard to be a 'shock-jock'. Sadly it's not working, he just doesn't have the personality to pull it off. What's worse is that he changes his point of view on any given subject to suit the mood of his callers. To be honest, I really don't listen to him much now as I still feel that slot belongs to Charlie. He certainly made better use of the airtime than Mike does.

With loss of Tommy Boyd and Charlie and death of Mike Dickin, the fun is gone from the station. Collins is not the same on late nights, Whale is a turncoat, Galloway simply sucks, and Mendoza has taken a leftward stance on the issues. The most that I listen to the station now is when the KABC simulcast is on.

I've found better evening talk programming over here with Mark Levin and Chris Plante on WMAL (www.wmal.com) in Washington, DC. Levin is a national host and is good friends with Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. Plante is a local host, following Levin.

Levin comes off somewhat angry, a la Dickin, but is actually very funny to listen to. I guess I can relate to these guys since they are here in the USA.
